Nga Manu Education Programme
In this unique programme, funded by Waikanae Rotary, 10 year-13 students from Paraparaumu College completed a 4-day practical conservation skills course at Ngā Manu Nature Reserve on the Kāpiti Coast. These students have largely decided that they want to pursue conservation careers and this hands-on experience which includes learning about doing health checks on birds and reptiles, key aspects of habitat management through to predator control sessions, will give them a head start..
National Science & Technology Forum
Rotary National Science and Technology Forum is a 2 week live in programme for outstanding Year 12 students, held in January each year and based in Auckland.
This programme is for high performing, all round science, maths and technology students in Year 12 who will be returning to Year 13 and are planning to study the sciences or technology at tertiary level.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
RYLA is an experiential live-in programme designed to help young people develop their teamwork and communication skills and fulfil their potential as leaders. This programme brings together a diverse group of young leaders across industries, cultures, genders and ethnicity to build meaningful and effective networks.
